Appraisals through the Mail

It used to be that every town had two or three competent stamp dealers. Well, the business has changed a lot since "the good old days"! Now you are lucky if there is one dealer within 100 miles! That's one reason why we travel so much. Even so, we can't get to all the people in all the towns that have stamp collections for sale.

We have over 30 years of professional experience & are fully insured while the stamps are in transit, both ways, & on our premises. However, in order to be insured, you must contact us before you send any material. We belong to numerous professional trade organizations & have an excellent reputation in the industry. (see About Us).

Are you serious about selling?

We will give you a free verbal appraisal  of your stamp collection if you send your collection through the mail to us, given the following:

  • You contact us to discuss the collection before sending it. Often the rough value can be determined over the phone or an alternate method can be determined without sending the collection to us, saving you postage & us time.
  • If we agree that you should send the collection, then you follow the Packing & Shipping guidelines. (see Packing & Shipping).
  • You pay the postage, both to us & back to you, if we aren't able to come to an agreement as to price.

We will get back to you as soon as possible with our offer. If David Medeiros (our buyer) is not on the road, that will usually be within a day of receipt. If David is out of town,  then it will be within a few days after his return. (see Travel Schedule)

Sometimes a collection doesn't have commercial value. If you would like, I can donate the stamps through the Sarasota Philatelic Club to the Stamps for the Wounded charity. They use the stamps in rehab programs for wounded veterans.

Please contact us before sending any material to us. We will not pay for return postage to you.
